Course Description
This course is dedicated to learning the approaches and modern surgical techniques applicable in cervical and lumbar spine surgeries. Anterior, posterior and lateral stabilization approaches will be analyzed. In the theoretical part of the course, which will consist of presentations and discussions, we will emphasize possible complications. In addition, tips&tricks on how to avoid complications and revision surgeries will be provided. Participants will consolidate their knowledge obtained during the theoretical discussions with practices and have the opportunity to perform approach and apply acquired knowledge. Every working station will have great equipment, including microscopes, C-arms, etc.
Target Participants
This event is targeted at certified surgeons with 3 to 10 years of experience in spine surgery, who are aiming to further improve their knowledge of surgical techniques in the management of different approaches to the spine.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Manage anterior, lateral and posterior approaches of the spine
- Perform C1-C2 fixation
- Perform lateral mass screw insertion in the subaxial cervical spine
- Perform cervical pedicle screw placement
- Perform anterior approach to the cervical spine and instrumentation
- Perform anterior and lateral lumbar approaches (ALIF, OLIF, DLIF)
